How to Enroll in Medicare Part A and Part B

Online (at Social Security)

It's the easiest and fastest way to sign up and get any financial help you may need. (You'll need to create your secure my Social Security account to sign up for Medicare or apply for benefits.)

There are three ways to enroll yourself in Medicare Part A and Part B:

1. Apply Online at www.SocialSecurity.gov.

2. Call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY users 1-800-325-0778), Monday through Friday, from 7a.m. to 7p.m.  TTY users can call 1-800-325-0778.

3. In-person at your local Social Security office. ** Good news! Many Social Security offices have reopened. Check with the office in your area.

After you enroll, watch for your Medicare card in the mail in about three weeks.

Failing to enroll in Medicare on time could cost you, so pay attention to the various enrollment options outlined below to keep from getting hit with a penalty for missing the sign-up window.

We do not offer every plan available in your area. Any information we provide is limited to those plans we do offer in your area.
